Did you know that there are approximately 40,000 different spider species around the world? From cellar spiders to widow spiders to tarantulas, it's hard to keep track of the long-legged creatures and know which ones are poisonous or harmless.
If you're an Arachnophobia (a person who has an irrational fear of spiders) or if you just really dislike them, then the following true story is not for you.
An Australian family was in for a real ~creepy~ treat this week when they were greeted by an alien-like creature at their home. Sandra Adaway, from Sebastopol, Ballarat, explained the traumatizing incident on Facebook. "This fellow was hanging from my backdoor by my son and his girlfriend," she expressed. "We carefully removed it and placed it into a see-through container so we could film it shedding its skeleton."
Adaway explained that some of the shots of the nearly 5-minute video were shaky because she was scared... and honestly, same! Just look at that monstrosity below:
But seriously, WTF is that thing?!! What appeared to be a 16-legged creature is known in the Spider World as a Huntsman Spider.
Often referred to as a Giant Crab Spider because of their size, this spider can be found in warm temperature countries such as Australia, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
According to Australian-based website Spiders, they are non-aggressive to humans and have a low risk of poison. However, their bite can be very painful.
