To be perfectly honest, we’re still not over the drama of the Love Island 2023 Casa Amor recoupling. Yes, we know it was over a week ago but there was just so much chaos that our brains are still computing exactly what went down – and that’s just the 45 minutes that we saw on TV.

Some of the dumped Islanders have since revealed that the recoupling actually takes way longer than we think. We’re talking HOURS.

Lydia Karakyriakou, who was brutally dumped from the villa when Tom Clare chose to stay loyal to Sami Elishi, has lifted the lid on some behind-the-scenes recoupling secrets that sound downright painful (literally).

“I don’t think you understand, this recoupling was hours long,” Lydia told her fans on TikTok.

“Us poor girls were standing there in our heels. The South African wind was hitting us very harshly. We were all very cold and that’s probably what tipped us over the edge because we’d all been dumped, we were freezing, we were tired and our feet were killing us.”

Lydia went on to explain exactly why the recouplings take so long when one fan commented, “I don’t understand why it takes so long .”

The bombshell replied, “There are soooo many pauses between each person so they can take stills of everyone and get different angles etc! So ends up taking so much longer .”

Ahh, so that explains it. Brutal scenes.
