If you're planning to frighten yourself into a fury for Halloween, then help is at hand, as the nation's top 10 scary movies of all time have been revealed.

The survey - which was commissioned by mobile phone insurance provider Insurance2go - found that Brits favourite horror movie genre is paranormal/ supernatural, closely followed by psychological.

Interestingly, slasher films were far more popular with women than men, with over a quarter of ladies surveyed (27%) saying it was their favourite type of scary film.
