Former EastEnders star Danny Dyer has teased a return to Walford after a watery exit from the show just weeks ago. Hooray!

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, Danny confirmed that producers purposefully left his exit open ended, Dirty Den mark one style, so that he can potentially return as Mick Carter.

“They wanted to keep it open. I’m very privileged and grateful for that job. It really did change my career and my life," he said.

But we don’t think that he will miss filming his exit. He told Jonathan that after filming the tear-jerking scenes, the crew's NOSES were streaming, rather than their eyes.

“My final scenes were in the sea, in Ramsgate at 2am," he said, setting the scene.

"We did the exteriors in the sea and the interiors you go to a water tank. But EastEnders couldn’t get Pinewood, so we had to go to Basildon.”

He went on, “It’s all warm and lovely but to make it look like the sea they put broccoli juice in it. You smell of arse. It’s f**king broccoli juice. Warm broccoli juice. It was very emotional, but I stunk.”

Speaking about leaving the show he was part of for nine heady years, he went on, “I do miss the people there, there’s no two ways about it but it’s a new chapter for me...

“If it goes tits up I can go back. I can turn up in three years’ time, walk in the Queen Vic smothered in seaweed…”

Hang on, there IS a mysterious man due in the Queen Vic this Christmas.

Could the man at the foot of the Christmas tree be MICK CARTER?

Hope not, because then Mick would actually be dead.

Carry on.

But who will die in the EastEnders Christmas Day epsiode 2023?

The soap surprised viewers with a show first when we saw a flash-forward to December 2023. It showed Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) all caught up in what looked like a murder scene.

How festive.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs this Saturday at 21.40PM on ITV1 and ITVX.
