While some people wait until "Monday to start the gym," others opt to put on their shoes and go for a run. However, some of those who have chosen this form of exercise do not understand why they still do not see results. If this is also your case, here are some reasons why:
1. You run too much
As you know, in life everything must be at its correct point. Excesses never lead to favorable results. So, the fact that you have not lost weight may be because you are running too much and you do not rest enough. Try in any case to exercise for shorter and perhaps more intense periods of time in which there is no lack of intervals (and days) to rest. If you get tired less, your body has the opportunity to recharge and you are less likely to overeat when you return home.
2. You don't change the routine
It is clear that if we want real results that are maintained over time we must be constant. However, this does not mean repeating the same exercises over and over again. Vary the place you run, remember that not all land is equal and, therefore, not all have the same requirement. You can also change the speed and vary the periods of time with shorter or longer intervals between each one.
3. You don't do any other exercise
If we always do the same, chances are that we get bored of doing the same. The weight loss process stagnates and you not only maintain the same weight as before, but you are likely to increase it. Try then another cardiovascular exercise such as cycling or dancing. If you perform a varied and enjoyable exercise routine it will be much easier to lose the extra pounds.
4. You forgot the intensity
The intensity when we run does not necessarily mean running faster or more miles on the same day. In any case, if you combine long runs with shorter ones along with some postures to strengthen arms and legs, you will most likely see the difference in a short time. Do not forget to add stretching exercises, fundamental for when you finish your training.
5. The diet is not adequate
Regular physical exercise is part of a healthy life, but it is necessary to emphasize that food is the pillar that sustains it. You can spend hours exercising very hard but if you eat foods loaded with saturated fats, sugars, and refined flours the most probable thing is that it will be difficult to lose weight. Then opt for a varied diet that includes all the nutritional groups and, of course, adapts to your personal characteristics and your lifestyle.
In a nutshell, you should pay attention to your diet and also think about doing various exercises. Stay open to changes and encourage yourself to transform your exercise routine from time to time. You will see that you will feel at ease and it will be easier for you to reach the weight you are looking for.
