During all her married life with Prince Charles, Diana of Wales suffered the "shadow" of Camilla Parker-Bowles. The press worldwide came to know the love between Carlos and Camilla even when the heir to the throne was already married to Diana.
However, there was a woman who could have replaced Diana's role in this controversial love triangle: her own sister, Lady Sarah Spencer.

Lady Sarah Spencer had a genuine romantic interest in Prince Charles, and according to the documentary Diana; In Her Own Words, she even revealed to her sister Diana how much she liked him.
Although the British press of the late '70s captured several moments in which Sarah and Charles seemed destined to be together and the British people called her "Future Queen" discreetly, Carlos quickly lost interest in Sarah and noticed Diana.

Apart from this unleashing a rivalry between sisters, it actually led to a mature attitude of Sarah, who became Lady Sarah McCorquodale to marry Neil Edmund McCorquodale in 1980, just a year before the marriage between Diana and Charles.
When the marriage of the heir to the British throne looked promising in the early 1980s, Sarah often called herself "cupid" to the British press and presumed that "she had introduced them."

On the other hand, when presenting the first ravages of Charle's infidelity, the documentary also cites that Diana had few reliable people around to vent her with confidence, but one of them was precisely Sarah. Ironically, the sisters became more united during Diana's marital life.
Nowadays, Lady Sarah tries to keep her sister's memory alive and continues to visit her nephews William and Harry, who correspond to her in affection and involve her in all her important events: for example, she has accompanied William to several diplomatic visits and she was recently honored with the link between Meghan and Harry.
Each sibling relationship is different, but this relationship, in particular, gives us an example to live without grudges and prioritize the importance of the family. Don't you think?
