Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made history at their royal wedding on Saturday. Although they had 600 guests at their ceremony, more than 2,500 people from all over the world visited the Windsor Castle gardens to see more closely and on a giant screen couple's big day. Some were members of charities where Harry and Meghan collaborate, other residents in the city of Windsor, other workers of the British crown, and others simply people with a deep love for royalty.
In addition to closely being part of the wedding of the year, they all had the pleasure of taking a memory of that special day. In a goodie bag that had the couple's initials in blue, these ~lucky~ people received many gifts relating to the royal wedding. The funny thing is that these beautiful gifts are already being auctioned on the internet.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding souvenirs
In any place in the world, the bride and groom give a souvenir to their guests as a sign of gratitude for being part of their wedding. For the most part, it's something sweet and simple. This was not the case for the gifts handed out at the royal wedding.
Harry and Meghan chose to give these citizens a beautiful "kit" containing a bottle of water, a chocolate coin, a fridge magnet, a can of all-butter shortbread biscuits, a letter with a message from the couple, and a coupon with a 20 percent discount at the Windsor Castle gift shop.
The ceremony has just finished and this memorabilia is already being auctioned on eBay.
On platforms like eBay, the cost of these souvenirs already sold for over $1,300. Although there's no need to go to extreme measures as some of these gifts are sold at the castle's souvenir shop and sell for much, much, much less—for example the royal cookies which sell for $8 in the store.
