In only two years, Telemundo—the second largest provider of Spanish-language content nationwide—managed to get a complete upgrade for their headquarters in Miami.
For many years, the OG location, where the majority of its programs including news and telenovelas are filmed, is in the suburb of Hialeah. But come 2018 and Telemundo has a new home.
Now located in Doral, Fla., the new Telemundo Center is a modern 476,000-square-feet building (it's over 2X bigger than the U.S. Capitol) offering the latest technology and resources to its employees.
"It's a game changer," said renowned Cuban-American journalist Jose Diaz-Balart, who assures that this center, which holds a capacity of 1,200 people, is a special site for future journalists.
"It's a center where the technology blends with the latest information and ways of putting it out," he said at the center's grand opening. "As technology evolves, we in journalism have to adapt to changes, but this is a center where technology will never get old because we built this thinking of the future," he expressed.
Telemundo Center, which is home to 13 studios, two digital labs, and virtual and augmented-reality sets, opened April 9, 2018, in Doral, Fla.
